White and black.  

Light and shadow.

Both hold the power  

to swallow all things  

and render them unseen.

Achromatic—  

formless, shapeless.

White cannot be seen  

within white.  

Black cannot be seen  

within black.

White reveals black.  

Black reveals white.

It was humans  

who named this “color.”

No positive, no negative.  

No good, no bad.  

No superior, no inferior.

So it is  

with light and shadow.

They are never separate—  

they exist together.

From distant memory  

returns a childhood game:  

shadow‑tag.

Bathed in light,  

my shadow  

never leaves me.

In light  

we notice shadow.

In darkness  

we discover  

true light.

All is one.
